At Illuminating the Youth, we're dedicated to inspiring, educating and equipping the youth the tools and confidence they need to thrive in their personal and professional lives. We strive to empower young people to shine their light by fostering self-awareness, environmental stewardship, and individual respect. Through our innovative horticultural approach, educational programs, and leadership initiatives, we guide young minds to develop mental and moral qualities, distinguish right from wrong, and cultivate a brighter future for themselves and generations to come.
HORTICULTURE EXPERIENCE
Improving the Environment while Shaping the Leaders of Tomorrow!
Horticulture is defined as the science and art of growing fruits, vegetables, flowers, or ornamental plants. Youth members will be taught the planting, budding, grafting, pruning and care of trees and vines; the right kind of soil, and the location and exposure for the different kinds of fruit trees, vines and shrubs; the study of injurious insects and the making and application of insecticides, scalecides and fungicides; something of the art of landscaping and vegetable gardening, together with the propagation of plants and flowers and the practical features of greenhouse work. expanding on the Horticultural Department and the amount of hands-on learning experiences students would receive.
